Australian oil and gas company AWE has recorded better-than-expected results from its third appraisal well drill in the southern portion of the Waitsia gas field in the Perth basin, confirming an extension of the onshore field in Western Australia.
The Waitsia-3 well encountered strong gas shows across 150 meters of the Kingia and High Cliff reservoirs in the southern portion of the field. Analysis of the Kinga reservoir revealed “excellent conventional reservoir qualities, among the best observed in the field to date,” AWE said.
