Russia and Turkey have signed an intergovernmental agreement to expedite work on the Turk Stream gas pipeline project, Russia’s government has said.
The agreement was signed on Monday in Istanbul, Turkey, on the sidelines of the World Energy Congress. It forms part of a series of deals signed between the two countries – which included the presidents and energy ministers of both nations – with wider energy agreements, such as continuing work on Akkuyu, Turkey’s first nuclear power plant.
