More than half of LNG exports from Sabine Pass, the sole exporting plant in the US, went to South America and Mexico in the first eleven months of 2016, according to data from the US energy department.
Prices were volatile during the period, starting the year at around USD 3.60/MMBtu, then reaching highs around USD 5/MMBtu in the middle of the year and declining to around USD 3.20/MMBtu by end of November, data showed.
