Oil and gas major Shell has called for a “strong” carbon tax to boost the economic case for gas and carbon capture and storage in the global electricity mix.
The hydrocarbons industry should strengthen calls for a “double digit” dollar tax per tonne of CO2, upstream director Andy Brown said in a keynote presentation at International Petroleum Week in London on Tuesday.
