Exports of LNG from east coast Australia have surged in the first two months of the year amid intensifying political debate about implementing a domestic gas reservation policy in order to prevent a supply shortage in the region.
Three east coast terminals at the Port of Gladstone in Queensland exported more than 3 million mt of LNG in the first two months of 2017 – just two years after exports from the region began.
