ConocoPhillips is considering expanding the production capacity of the Darwin LNG facility using low-cost technology to enable a second train at the plant.
A feasibility study, due to be completed by year-end, will explore different liquefaction process technologies and production rates to support low-cost development of a second LNG train. This is seen as key to enabling capacity expansion in what is becoming an increasingly difficult market for LNG producers.
