German utility EnBW and Danish energy company DONG Energy are preparing to build three offshore wind projects in the German North Sea without any government subsidies early next decade.
The projects emerged successful in the first of two German auction rounds for grid connections and funding with bids of zero euros per MWh, meaning they will not receive a subsidy on top of the wholesale electricity price.
