Japanese utilities are experiencing mixed fortunes in long-running efforts to restart the country’s fleet of nuclear reactors following the 2011 Fukushima disaster and across-the-board safety shutdowns.
This week Kansai Electric Power (KEPCO) said it will restart two reactors in the central state of Fukui in mid-May and early June, while further north, one of the world’s largest nuclear power stations is expected to remain offline until at least 2019.
