US exports of LNG to Latin America have fallen dramatically this year owing to lower demand for seaborne gas in the region, new data from Gas Strategies and the Department of Energy reveals.
Latin American countries have all but disappeared from the list of destinations for cargoes leaving Cheniere’s Sabine Pass facility in Louisiana – despite Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico together buying around half the output from the sole operational US export project last year.
