UK regulator the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) is aiming to shave at least 35% off the cost of decommissioning infrastructure in the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS), which currently stands at GBP 59.7 billion (USD 77.5 billion).
The OGA’s latest estimate covers the cost of decommissioning all of the UK’s current and future offshore facilities, pipelines, development, exploration and appraisal wells and onshore terminals.
