The cancellation of the Pacific Northwest LNG project is a major setback for Canada’s long-held LNG export ambitions that, while not entirely surprising, will send ripples far beyond the picturesque coastline of British Columbia.
At 12 mtpa, PNW LNG was viewed by many as Canada’s leading large scale project. It was first conceived more than half a decade ago on a strategic west coast greenfield site to tap premium gas markets in Asia.
