Majors and maverick wildcat shale producers alike have pushed gas and oil production to record levels in the US, repeatedly hitting the headlines in recent years. Garnering far less attention, though, is the production of natural gas liquids (NGLs) such as ethane, propane and butane, which have also reached all-time highs, helping E&P firms weather the oil price rout that began in 2014.
