Late last year, Argentina approved temporary legislation allowing the first gas to be exported to Chile in over a decade – the result of Chile’s Quintero LNG terminal going down for maintenance. Chile, meanwhile, has for the past two years approved one-off export deals to cover winter gas shortages in Argentina.Brazil, Bolivia and Argentina are all looking to bolster production, while simultaneously driving domestic demand, with cross border trades opening up between nations where they had previously been curtailed.
