BP has sanctioned the Angelin gas project offshore Trinidad and Tobago and unearthed new offshore gas discoveries, both of which could potentially alleviate long-running supply constraints at the 15 mtpa Atlantic LNG facility.
The Angelin development will boost flagging domestic gas production by 600 MMcf/day when it comes online in 2019. The project requires a new offshore platform – BP’s fifteenth in the country – located 60 km off the Caribbean island nation’s south-east coast.
