Energean said on Tuesday that first gas from its Katlan field in Israel is planned for the first half of 2027 after the company announced it had reached final investment decision (FID) on the project. The announcement is welcome news for energy security in Israel, and potentially also for Egypt, which has been facing gas shortages and reduced LNG exports.
