Having declined in the second quarter of 2024, LNG supply rebounded in the third quarter, increasing by 2.41 mt (2.5%). This brought the increase for the first nine months of the year to 2.69 mt (0.9%). This growth rate is significantly slower than the historical average of 6% to 7% per annum observed over the past 40 years. Production has been hampered by factors such as unscheduled maintenance, declining feed gas supply, and delays in commissioning new capacity, resulting in production levels below available liquefaction capacity.
