Methanol

Methyl alcohol, produced from natural gas via Synthesis Gas. Used as a chemical in the resin and paint industry and in the manufacture of Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether, (MTBE) and acetic acid, but also of interest as a possible total or partial substitute for motor gasoline in cars. Very toxic.
