Jamaica has abandoned its attempt at securing LNG as the solution to the country's high electricity prices, with energy minister Phillip Paulwell blaming unavailability of supply at reasonable prices as the reason for the change in tactics. “The price of LNG has gone up, largely due to the demand out of Asia," Paulwell told local newspaper The Gleaner.
