As China’s economy has ballooned over the past decade, so has its gas demand – more than doubling since 2009. The global gas industry has invested billions of dollars in projects to supply the Chinese market, which is often viewed as a bottomless pit. But China’s gas demand growth – not to mention economy – is now showing signs of faltering, and the market looks set to become oversupplied.
