Since supply crises in 2006 and 2009, the EU and its partners have pursued new supply sources in Southeast Europe, the region worst hit by Ukrainian transit issues. But while dependence on Russian gas is politically undesirable for the EU, the problem lies more in the delivery than the supplier.
