Long a pariah of the international capital markets, Argentina has struggled to attract the “many Chevrons” it needs to fully realise its promising unconventional oil and gas resources. But the election of centre-right candidate Mauricio Macri in November 2015 has fuelled hopes that Argentina might finally establish the right conditions for a Latin American shale success story.
