The BP vessel ‘British Merchant’ is set to become the first LNG carrier to transit the newly-expanded Panama Canal on 26 July, according to the Society of International Gas Tanker and Terminal Operators (SIGTTO).
The ship currently anchored outside Trinidad and Tobago’s Port of Spain is expected to deliver an LNG cargo from Trinidad and Tobago to Chile via the canal, SIGTTO said.
