The northeast Australian state of Queensland plans to offer 451 sq km for gas exploration, as part of a series of tenders aimed at attracting new hydrocarbons, coal and mining activity over the next 12 months.
The tender includes seven areas between Cloncurry in the northwest, Bowen Basin in central Queensland and Surat in the southwest, which will be offered in Q4 2016, the Queensland government said in a statement on Wednesday.
