The proposed 2.1 mtpa Woodfibre LNG export project on the western coast of Canada has received funding approval from parent company Pacific Oil & Gas, clearing the way for plans to start construction next year and produce first LNG in 2020.
Pacific Oil & Gas had partly based its decision on a recently-implemented scheme by the BC government aimed at reducing emissions by having gas industry players power their facilities using grid-sourced electricity rather than burning gas on site.
