The outlook for the proposed 55 Bcm/year expanision of the Nord Stream pipeline from Russia to Germany remains strongly divided, with some believing the line will progress and others forecasting years of delays and possible cancellation.
Russia’s Gazprom remains the sole 100% shareholder of Nord Stream 2, whose planned two twin 27.5 Bcm pipes are expected to run 1,200 km across Russia’s Baltic coast to the German coast near Greifswald. Supporters of the project include Shell, Engie, OMV, Uniper and Wintershall.
