The Nigerian government has served Shell with an indictment request over a long-standing dispute involving the country’s largest oil block, OPL 245.
Gas Matters Today understands that Shell, along with the Italian major Eni, is accused of fraudulent transactions relating to the USD 1.3 billion purchase of a licence for OPL 245 in 2011. The tribunal for preliminary hearing in Milan has been set for 20 April.
