Iran has revived long-in-the-tooth hopes of exporting gas across the Middle East region and beyond by awarding a preliminary permit for the construction of an LNG plant on the coast of the Persian Gulf.
Iran’s Ministry of Petroleum issued the permit to Mahtaab Parto Kangan LNG at the end of March, according to a statement published over the weekend by National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).
