UK North Sea decommissioning is set to get a boost, with the UK’s Forth Ports Limited and AF Gruppen subsidiary AF Offshore Decom UK announcing a new joint venture (JV) that will establish a North Sea oil and gas decommissioning hub in the city of Dundee.
Some 619,580 tonnes of redundant oil and gas production equipment needs to come ashore at an estimated cost of GBP 16.9 billion over the next decade according to the UK’s Oil & Gas Authority and industry players are keen to make the most of the opportunities.
