The third quarter of 2019 saw strong growth in LNG supply continuing, as it increased by 11.56 mt (14.9%), taking the total incremental supply for the first nine months of the year to 34.78 mt (15.2%). Demand in Asia, the world’s largest regional LNG market, stalled, rising by just 3.77 mt (6.5%) for the quarter and, with imports into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and the Americas falling, Europe was again the main destination for the incremental production, receiving, in volume terms, over 80% of the increased output of LNG globally.
