Greece’s dash for gas continues, supported by the government’s coal-to-gas drive in the power sector. Together with the Europe-wide angst the war in Ukraine has caused over the continent’s security of gas supply, the growth in Greece’s gas demand has emboldened the developers of four new LNG import projects in the country. But with Greece’s LNG needs already well-served by the existing Revithoussa terminal and a second facility, the freshly sanctioned Alexandroupolis, due to begin operations in 2023, are these four new projects four too many?
