‘The edges are becoming blurred between offshore energy sectors’: OEUK

Offshore Energies UK (OEUK) is the leading trade body for the UK offshore industry. While its members continue to grapple with persistent labour shortages and supply chain issues caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and, more recently, the Ukraine crisis, the organisation is keen to fight the corner for a sustainable and innovative North Sea oil and gas sector, but also champion the growth of offshore electrification, carbon capture, hydrogen and wind in the UK. And for all these interdependent segments to succeed, making them attractive to “tomorrow’s workforce” is more important than ever, Alix Thom, OEUK’s workforce engagement and skills manager, tells Gas Matters in this exclusive interview.
