Partners in Israel’s giant Leviathan field have agreed to sell 45 Bcm to Jordan’s National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) under an estimated USD 10 billion take-or-pay contract, Delek Group said this week.
The 15-year supply purchase agreement (SPA) is the largest ever signed by the Leviathan partners in terms of cost and volume. Subject to regulatory approval by Israel and Jordan, the deal will take effect once the 22 Tcf field produces first gas, which is expected in 2020.
